The Residents Association committee will be meeting to discuss
traffic issues, with representatives from Swale Borough Council, Kent
County Council and local M.P. Derek Wyatt on 24/06/05, to push for action on
the
following
issues (and more - see full
agenda):
Roundabout
at the development entrance
The offset roundabout encourages some drivers to negotiate the roundabout
anti clockwise, on entry. This illegal act leaves drivers exiting
the development, struggling to avoid oncoming traffic in the middle
of the road.
Entry
pinch point
We are concerned that the pinch point promotes inappropriate speed,
due to the raised block paving creating a level surface for the road
and footpath, this is also used for parking or as a passing point,
utilising the footpath without restriction.
Emergency
Access
Due to the single entrance and exit for vehicles to the development,
an emergency access route is in place between Brier Road and Maylam
Gardens. Since the development was occupied, vehicles have been parking
across the access to this area at both ends.
Open space
footpaths
Currently the footpaths in this area, are increasingly in a poor
state of repair. Large sections have sunk and subsequent repairs
to paved areas have exacerbated the problem.
Thank
you to all residents who have helped bring these issues to our
attention.
